I was born in San Francisco, California, and grew up in a musically conducive household- my dad is a jazz pianist, and my mom is an avid lover of music. As a child I was absolutely captivated and thrilled by musicians’ abilities to create the sounds, and sonic universes that I was experiencing. From an early age I loved the guitar, and fortuitously my family owned a Spanish, nylon-string acoustic. It was at that point of my life- around the age of five, that I began my musical evolution.
Over the course of my childhood and adolescence I studied with Tom Finch, Alex Degrassi, and Mimi Fox (among others). I received my Bachelor’s degree in Music at UC Berkeley in 2015. during my tenure there I studied from many more wonderful and influential teachers, including Michael Goldberg (classical guitar), Jeff Massanari (jazz guitar), Myra Melford, Glenn Richman, Richard Taruskin, and Karen Rosenak.
I currently reside in San Francisco, California, and am actively teaching, performing, composing, and recording.
